SHINE: S-strengthen H-help I-inspire N-nurture E-empower - Mental Health
Hello! I am Kimberly Parker, a graceful, imperfect person who loves helping people grow to reach their desired goals. Through therapy, I facilitate the healing process needed to recover from depression, anxiety, and substance abuse to live the life they want to live. I know that negative thoughts, feelings, and self-defeating behaviors can get in the way of us realizing our full potential. I also know we can have a new lease on life with adequate support, compassion, and insight. It is why I became a therapist. I believe in our power to transform and overcome the most minor mistakes into the most considerable obstacles. My training, education, and life experiences have provided me with deep insight and a unique ability to connect with others. I am committed to living purposefully and strive to help others manifest their desires.
I am a wife, married for over twenty years, and the mother of two young adults. For pleasure, I enjoy exercising, writing, and shopping for shoes (smile). I am an Army veteran and a big advocate for social justice.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and my experience includes working with youth, adults, and families focused on mood disorders (depression, anxiety, Bipolar II), behavior modification, interpersonal development, trauma, and substance abuse. My therapy approach is solution-focused, working towards your goals, and I utilize mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy treatment modalities to create change. Progress in therapy will depend on the work we do together during therapy sessions and the work you'll need to do outside of the session as a follow-through.
I am grateful for the privilege of partnering with you as your therapist, and I look forward to working with you. Thank you.
Hey, I'm Tierra, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Some quick facts about me are that I like to travel, try different foods, and love anime. I offer a safe space where you can share the positives and negatives without judgment. And you can express your emotions and thoughts that you could not do otherwise in your daily life. Whether you feel you're in a good place but would like extra support or you feel many things are going wrong and don't know where to turn. I am here to assist you wherever you may be to listen, uplift, and motivate you. I specialize in working with veterans, young adults, and others experiencing relationship/friendship issues, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, school, transitions in life, trauma, and life stressors. I aim to help you overcome any challenges you may be facing.
Greetings! I’ve studied a multitude of counseling approaches for individuals, marriage, and family systems. With over 15 years as a mental health provider, I understand the importance of destigmatizing mental health and embodying social justice practice by serving marginalized communities and families. Utilizing a collaborative, person centered treatment approach, I focus on developing healthy coping skills and providing psychoeducation on your personal difficulties. Additionally, I believe in creating a warm and attuned environment where you feel heard, accepted, and valued.
With a professional background in dance, I believe the body is a tool that can inform the mind and spirit. I practice with an eclectic approach to therapy integrating mindfulness, neuroscience, expressive arts and family systems, treating each client holistically and to their specific mental health needs. I have experience in treating disorders related to trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression.
I am passionate about working with you, regardless of your background, sexual orientation, or religious affiliation. Life doesn’t have to feel so challenging; you are not alone in this. Let’s connect, dialogue, and start your journey to healing. You deserve it, you are worthy.
Hello! I graduated from Syracuse University with a Master's in Social Work and received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I enjoy working with "tweens," teens, and adults, helping them manage their various stressors and anxieties. I also enjoy helping families navigate issues they may be experiencing together. We will work together to help you manage negative thoughts, unwanted behaviors, and stressors. I have experience working with trauma, depression, and anxiety-related disorders. I incorporate different evidence-based methods that best-fit clients' needs and help them achieve their therapy goals. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy. I am a published researcher and continue to work on research projects concerning mental health and adolescence, which also informs my evidence-based practice. I always strive to create a safe
e and supportive environment for all my clients to promote self-exploration, help them grow, and empower them on their life journey. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions.
Hi, I am a graduate of Walden University where I earned my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a dual specialization in Trauma and Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling. As your counselor, I am passionate about helping clients find the inner strength they need to face all obstacles they may face in life. Depending on the needs of the clients I may utilize Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or Family Systems Therapy to aid the client in reaching their specific therapeutic goals. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds on issues including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief and loss, and other mental health and life concerns. I believe that my role as a Counselor is to collaborate with my clients and work with them to solve their issues.
Making the decision to seek out Mental Health support is not easy but can be very beneficial. Change is not easy and along your journey, we may discuss aspects of your life that may be unpleasant or uncomfortable. If feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, shame, loneliness, or frustration begin to surface, we will process and work through the feelings together. There are no guarantees of what you will experience. For you to achieve the most benefit from counseling, you will have to be engaged in your therapy sessions, committed, and do work outside of therapy to meet your personal goals.
I believe in taking a collaborative approach with my clients that emphasizes their goals and strengths. I support adults by treating the whole person and creating an environment that promotes positive change.
I have experience with dually diagnosed clients dealing with both mental health and substance abuse. I also have experience working with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. My treatment styles include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy. Also, I provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a trained DBT therapist. I believe in person-centered treatment and empowering my clients.
Having been a client myself, I believe in the power that counseling can have on an individual. As a counselor, I strive to create a welcome and support for all my clients. By focusing on my client's strengths, I can empower them to be the best version of themselves.
Hi, I believe each client is an expert in their own experience. My job as a therapist is to help you realize your power to reach your goals. I think the purpose of therapy is for a client to work on self-healing as they find healing within their community. I work with clients with all types of traumas, including religious trauma, intimate partner violence, and family systems trauma. I help clients deconstruct oppressive ideologies, whether we are directly harmed by them or were brainwashed to believe them. As a queer person, I also specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients, including asexual, aromantic, and bisexual clients. To help clients' individual needs, I utilize solution focus, narrative therapy, somatic experiencing, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Therapy is a co-creative process that requires clients to be accountable for their growth. I practice cultural humility and competence as an intersectional feminist. I utilize evidence-based practice and actively listen to diverse voices in the community so that I can empathetically and sensitively help clients of all races, classes, abilities, beliefs, etc. It would be a privilege to help you in your self-empowerment journey!
I enjoy working with clients motivated to work on the issues they see as having hurt their lives or issues that they feel are holding them back from living the life they want and having the relationships they want to have.
I offer virtual sessions only. I have experience working with depressive, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. I have also worked with those needing help with anger management, coping skills, and parenting education. I have experience working with people with chronic diseases, including chronic kidney disease and HIV.
I believe, from personal and professional experience, that therapy can profoundly affect how satisfied and fulfilled we feel in our lives. Too often, we carry negative feelings and behaviors counterproductive to living our best life. With the right therapist and the desire to change, hope for a better life exists.
